On behalf of the PTA, welcome to Curtis Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year!
What is the PTA and who can be a Member?
The Curtis Parent Teacher Association consists of parents, teachers, and students working together to enrich our school community. We support school staff, help promote student welfare, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and fundraising. There is a $10 membership fee to belong, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend meetings. Our general meetings this year are September 13th, April 11th, and May 9th at 9:45am.
PTA Programs & Fundraising
Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our school with programs, resources, and services that enrich and maximize the education of every child and benefit the school. Here are a few programs we sponsor and/or support: Red Ribbon Week, Aim for Success, Val-o-grams, Spring Dance, Teacher Appreciation, and Family Fun Nights.
This year, one of our goals is to raise enough money for 2 additional water bottle filling stations for Curtis and to support our Librarian by sponsoring one of the author visits. These are big goals. Each station costs approximately $5000 and an author visit is $2000. We are only able to provide these and other programs because of the generous support of our parents! Please consider helping us make Curtis an even better environment for our children through a donation to our no fuss fundraiser.
Become a Volunteer….Why YOU should get involved!
Here at Curtis, we strive for excellence. We encourage our students to be part of their community and volunteering is a huge part of being involved. By supporting the PTA, you are investing in your child’s community. If we parents give as little as an hour or two a year, it makes a huge difference. You can become involved today by filling out the “Volunteer Interest” form. We invite you to attend a meeting, or feel free to contact us through the Curtis PTA website. PTA members will be available at the Meet the Teacher night, August 8th to answer any of your questions. Hope to see you there!
